History of St Luke's Hospice

2010 St Luke's Hospice wins Basildon Business Award for Best Business in the Community 2010 and celebrates 20 years of hospice care.
2009 St. Luke's House, incorporating a New Information Resource Centre, Opened as a satellite to main Hospice.
2007 Purchase of property - 22 Lampits Hill, Corringham, now known as St Luke's House.
2005 HQS re-accreditation in September achieving 47 commendations for best/innovative practice. Lukes Counselling Service for Children and Young People is launched
2004 The new Macmillan Dove Community Counselling Service was commissioned
New Complementary Therapy service established
2003 St. Luke's achieves accreditation with Health Quality Service Standards (HQS)
New Hospice at Home service launched
1991 First in-patient arrives
First St. Luke's Shop opens
1990 Building completed
First Day Hospice patient arrives in June
26th September St. Luke's Hospice is officially opening by the Duchess of Norfolk
Princess Diana visits the Hospice in November
1989 Building work finally begins
1987/1988 The freehold for Fobbing Farm is purchased from the Basildon Development Corporation
1986 St. Luke's Hospice Administration and Function building opened
1985 The lease for Fobbing Farm was signed
1984 The name 'St. Luke's Hospice' was chosen
