Volunteers at St. Luke’s Hospice were celebrated last week (Tuesday 6th June) at a special thank you event hosted by the charity during Volunteers Week.

St. Luke’s Hospice has more than 360 volunteers who give their time, energy, knowledge and skills across every department at the Hospice. Volunteers provide support in roles including administration, reception, housekeeping, catering, fundraising and supporting people at the Hospice.

Chris Bartell, Volunteer Co-Ordinator at St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “We are sincerely grateful every day for the commitment of our volunteers, but Volunteers Week highlights and celebrates their contribution and dedication.

“We had a great afternoon at the thank you event and it was so nice to see many volunteers come together to enjoy the sunshine and refreshments in the Hospice garden. Special thanks on the day to our entertainer Ella Botton, magician Max Baker and Julie Rooke for baking such amazing cakes.

Volunteers are an integral part of the team at St. Luke’s Hospice. The charity has a variety of volunteering opportunities available and whatever your age, background, motivation or experience, there is likely to be a volunteer role at the Hospice suited to you.
