Test Track Ten Races participants 

General

  • An individual email address is required for each entrant when registering. All correspondence will be via email. 
  • To register for the Test Track Ten Races – 10 mile run you must be 17 years of age or older on event day. 
  • To register for the Test Track Ten Races – 10k you must be 15 years of age or older on event day. 
  • Participants of the Test Track Ten Races 2.5k Fun Run must be 5 years of age or older on event day. 
  • Each participant must agree to the disclaimer and terms & conditions before participating in the event, or if aged under 18 the T&Cs must be signed by an accompanying parent or guardian.  
  • All participants take part at their own risk. Participation in any of the 3 races is solely and entirely at the participants own risk and (to the extent permitted by law) no person(s) or organisation(s) shall be liable for any accident, harm, injury, loss or damage to property, however so caused, arising out of or in connection with or, suffered during or as a result of, your participation in the Event, provided always that nothing shall exclude liability for death or personal injury caused directly by the negligence of the organiser or its employees. 
  • Test Track Ten Races - 10 mile run registrants must be capable of completing the full distance of 10 miles and must also complete the race from start line to finish line, within 4 hours. 
  • Test Track Ten Races – 10k run registrants must be capable of completing the full distance of 10 kilometres and must also complete the race from start line to finish line, within 4 hours. 
  • Test Track Ten Races - Fun Run (2.5k) registrants must be capable of completing the full distance of 2.5km and must also complete the race from start line to finish line, within 1 Hour. 
  • Participant race number bibs are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged with or transferred/ sold to any other person. 
  • Transfers between runners are only permissible through the St. Lukes Hospice event organisers, within the online registration period. Sale and/or transfer of race entry/bibs are strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of any individuals involved from future events. 
  • Bib numbers for all Test Track Ten Races are attached via the use of safety pins which are available in the registration area. Should you not wish to use safety pins you must provide your own alternative. 
  • All entry fees are non-refundable and may not be deferred toward a future event. 
  • Online registration closure is 5pm on Wednesday 15th May 2024. 
  • No postal entries 
  • Event officials reserve the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules. 
  • Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. 
  • Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification, loss of prize and removal from official results. 
  • The Test Track Ten Races 10 mile and 10k races follows, and participants are subject to, the rules specified by the UK Athletics. Please visit the UKA website for additional information concerning the rules mandated by the governing body for the sport. 

Corporate Teams

  • Participants taking part as a corporate team will be made aware of who the winning corporate team is within 48hours of the race.
  • Any company details provided within the online entry form, will be used by our Corporate Fundraising Manager / Team to make direct contact with the named company.
  • Any company name provided within the online entry form will be provided to our Race Timing Company and the company name will be displayed publicly on the results page. 

Race Day

  • Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel and Ford security staff throughout the duration of the event. 
  • All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event. This means, for example, that urinating or defecating anywhere on or near the course shall be strictly prohibited except in toilet facilities. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be disqualified from the event and will be asked to leave the course. 
  • Every participant shall be provided with an event bib number, which shall be conspicuously worn on the front during the event. The event bib number is to be worn as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number. 
  • Wheelchair entries start time will be 5 minutes before the runner entries start. 
  • All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information (including medical information entered on registration or collected by event medical staff during or after the event) can be stored, used and disclosed by St. Luke’s Hospice in connection with the organisation and administration of the event and for the compilation of statistical information. 
  • Participants shall assemble for each race on the Test Track no less than 15 minutes prior to the race start (9.30am fun run start / 10am 10m and 10k start).  
  • All participants shall enter the Test Track from the grassed area behind the exhibitor stands or via the path leading from the same point straight down to the track, unless otherwise directed by an event official. Any person who climbs the fence/barrier or otherwise enters improperly shall be disqualified from the event. 
  • Participants must begin the event during the official recognized starting times. 
  • All participants must be positioned behind the starting line when starting. 
  • There will be a facility to leave your bag in our stores free of charge. Please note that although this is staffed throughout the whole event you leave your bag at your own risk. 
  • The Test Track Ten Races events are hosted by Ford, Dunton and take places on an active site. The event is held at a weekend when it is less likely to be busy but all participants of the Test Track Ten Races 10 mile and 10k races are reminded that vehicle access to Ford staff has to remain open for the duration of the event and you are aware this is not a traffic free event (excluding the Fun Run, which is completely traffic free). 
  • No participant vehicle movement between 9.30am and 11.30am. 
  • No participant registration / collection of numbers after 9.15am for the Fun Run and 9.30am for the TT10 Races. 

Courses

  • You give consent for photos taken by our event photographers to be used in any publicity of The Test Track Ten Races events and in the support of St. Luke’s Hospice either now or in the future. Photos may be uploaded to the Test Track Ten Races event webpage for public viewing / downloading. 
  • Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official, or course marshal, or who conducts himself/herself/themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified from the event and banned from future participation, at the discretion of race officials. 
  • Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the race (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from future participation, at the discretion of race officials. 
  • Any person who participates in the event without a current official event bib number or timing device or a bib or chip not officially assigned to him/her/them is subject to removal and disqualification from future events. 
  • No person shall be allowed to accompany a participant if he/she/them is not registered in the 10 mile or 10k run event, nor shall any participant be allowed, without the permission of the event management, to receive assistance from anyone during the progress of the event. Any person not properly displaying an authorized and issued bib number shall be directed to leave the course for the 10m and 10k runs only. 
  • If a participant is aged between 5-18 years and is participating in the Fun Run they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Only this authorised person will be permitted on the Fun Run course. 
  • A hands-on medical examination during the progress of an event by officially designated medical personnel shall not be considered assistance and will not result in disqualification if participant is deemed medically fit. If a participant becomes ill during or after the event and/or receive medical attention or treatment either from event medical staff, first aid team or any doctor or hospital, they must authorise such persons to provide details (including details of medical treatment) to the event director by him/herself. 
  • The use of wheeled devices by participants or any other person authorized to be on the course shall be strictly limited to (a) authorized course marshals on bicycles (b) wheelchair entries. 
  • The 10 mile and 10k runs are under UK Athletics rules. 
  • All Test Track Ten Race entries: We hold this race under British / UK Athletics road race rules and regulations. From 1 April 2016 a new rule regarding the wearing of head phones in road races was introduced into the 2016-2018 edition of the UKA Rules of Competition. UKA have agreed that the use of bone conductor type headphones is acceptable, but NO OTHER types of headphones/earphones but these will be allowed. Anyone seen wearing headphones/earphones (excluding bone conductor headphones) will be disqualified from the race. 
  • Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colour relating to participant maps, facilities and direction. 
  • Medical personnel authorized by the event to do so may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorized medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event. 
  • Participants must retire at once from any race if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers. 
  • Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services. 
  • Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather in accordance with emergency protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather. No refund will be issued in these circumstances. 
  • No refund will be issued if the event is cancelled due to a designated infectious or communicable disease or a threat or fear thereof, leading to quarantine or travel advisory or warning. 
  • The organiser has no liability for any loss of travel or accommodation costs that the participant may incur. 

Result Timing

  • All participants in the Test Track Ten Races – 10 Mile and 10k races are assigned a chip timing device which will be issued when you collect your bib. The chip timing device needs to be attached to your trainer. Volunteers will remove these at the end of the race. 
  • Clock time (gun time) is the official time for the prize giving. The official times shall be recorded from the start of the race by the starting gun to the point where the participant crosses the finish line. Times shall be rounded to the next highest second. 
  • Official times for mass participants will be the electronic timing device time (chip time) from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line. 
  • Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously from start line to finish line, to receive an accurate finish time. 
  • Participants found to be wearing two or more timing devices during the race will be disqualified and their results will not be recorded. 
  • Participants with missing timing device times at official checkpoints will be reviewed and may be disqualified. 
  • Participants must begin the event during the official recognized starting time in order to register an official course completion time. 
  • Timing chip results will be provided by Race Timing Solutions Ltd. All Test Track Ten Races - 10 mile and 10k race entries will have the following information provided to Race Timing Solutions Ltd - name, DOB, running number, Club name (if applicable) and Company name (if applicable). Results will also be uploaded to our Test Track Ten Races webpage and All Races (racetimingsolutions.co.uk) for public viewing.
